For your Initial Consultation, we will need a couple of things:

1. A list of your Creditors

In order to evaluate your financial situation during your Initial consultation and make sure all your creditors are notified of your bankruptcy filing should you proceed, we need a complete list of your creditors.  If you have copies of your bills you can just bring those.  If not, you may want to write out a list. A good way to get creditor information is by going to www.annualcreditreport.com and print out your credit report for free (although not everyone reports to credit bureaus). We can also pull 2 credit reports for you for free.  Ultimately we will need to be able to compile a complete list of the names, addresses, account numbers, and amounts owed for all of your creditors before the case is filed.

2. Proof of income for the past 6 months

Proof of income, starting one month prior to the filing, may be in the form of pay stubs or a print out from your employer.  If you are filing with a spouse, we will need proof of income for both of you.

Tax Returns

We do not require your tax returns or tax transcript on an Initial consultation. However, we will need these documents before you can file.  For Chapter 7,  we will need a copy of the last 2 years of tax returns you filed. For Chapter 13, we will need the last 4 years of tax transcripts. You can either get these free from the IRS by calling 1-800-908-9946 or we can order them online for you for a nominal fee, whichever you prefer.
